Shell Lubricants and Greases contribute more than you think to your sustainability targets and ambitions.

In an increasingly climate-conscious world, we all must work harder to ensure our output does not overshadow the responsibility to reduce operational carbon emissions. But planet and profit need not be mutually exclusive. Lubricants and greases that can help achieve your sustainability ambitions can also help increase the overall efficiency of your operations.

Our role in this is clear, having set a target to become a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050 or sooner. And we know you expect your partners to offer sustainable products and services, especially as low-carbon initiatives become an important part of business decisions.

To help you meet these targets, we combine expert advice with leading-edge technology to equip you with a range of product lines for different sectors and applications that can contribute to sustainability targets without the need for compromising performance.

For example, we recently announced the launch of our extended range of carbon neutral lubricants1. As well as helping to avoid or reduce emissions through material choices and operational efficiencies, these products are now carbon neutral thanks to Shell’s global portfolio of nature-based carbon credits.

And our Shell Naturelle range comprises biodegradable lubricants that are environmentally acceptable and can help you meet the latest regulations when working in environmentally sensitive locations.

But the sustainability equation demands you consider the entire lifecycle of your product. And so, we’ve also developed lubricants that can help drive energy efficiencies and ultra-extend your oil drain intervals, streamlining maintenance wherever possible and helping reduce the carbon footprint of your operation.

1“Carbon neutral” indicates that Shell has engaged in a transaction where an amount of CO₂ equivalent to the CO₂e amount associated with the raw material extraction, transport, production, distribution, usage and end-of-life of the Lubricants has been avoided as emissions through the protection of natural ecosystems or removed from the atmosphere through a nature-based process. CO₂e (CO₂ equivalent) refers to CO₂, CH₄, N₂O.

Lubricants and greases that can help achieve your sustainability ambitions can also help increase the overall efficiency of your operations.
